| 5. Oktober 2000 | Nachdem es bereits Sondersendungen unter dem Namen RNI und Radio London vom Feuerschiff Nr. 18 gegeben hatte, wurde überraschend für Oktober 2000 eine Sonderlizenz für Radio Caroline beantragt. John Day, der Organisator dieser Sendungen, hatte als alter Freund von Caroline Stationsmanager Peter Moore die Erlaubnis erhalten, diesen Namen zu nutzen. Ansonsten hatte Radio Caroline von LV18 wenig mit dem regulären Radio Caroline zu tun. Lediglich einige der bekannten Caroline DJ‘s moderierten zeitweise Gastprograme vom Feuerschiff. | Following broadcasts as RNI and as Radio London it was rather surprisingly and with short notice announced that in October 2000 programmes under the name of Radio Caroline would be coming from LV18. John Day, the organizer of this RSL, had permission from his old friend and Caroline station manager Peter Moore to use this name. But apart form the name the Harwich RSL had hardly any connections to the regular Radio Caroline. Just some of the Caroline DJ‘s made guest appearences on the lightship. | October 5th 2000 |

| Mit Harwich als Kulisse kann man auf dem Foto unten hinter LV18 ein weiteres Feuerschiff erkennen. Es befindet sich am Trinity Pier wo immer ein oder zwei noch im Einsatz befindliche Feuerschiffe zu Wartungszwecken festgemacht sind | With Harwich as a background you can see on the photograph below another lightship behind LV18. It is along Trinity Pier where you can always find one or two lightships. These lightships are still in use by Trinity House and are here only for maintenance. | ||

| Wie auf den Fotos zu erkennen, ist man bestrebt mit Farbe und Entrostungsaktionen das Schiff in Schuss zu halten. Von innen ist das Schiff größtenteils im ursprünglichen Zustand und weitgehend gut erhalten so dass hier keine umfangreichen Instandsetzungsarbeiten wie auf der Ross Revenge notwendig sind. Tony O‘Neil, Besitzer des im Harwicher Leuchtturm untergebrachten Rundfunkmuseums, hofft über die Gründung eines Unterstützungsvereins das Feuerschiff langfristig zu restaurieren und ebenfalls als Museum der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen. | As you can see on the photographs with the help of de-rosting-actions and paint the ship is making a good appearance. The inside of LV18 is still mainly original and mostly in good shape. This means that maintenance and repairs are not necessary on a big scale as on the Ross Revenge. Tony O‘Neil, owner of the Harwich Lighthouse Radio Museum, is hoping that by means of a trust (for which he already has important local support) he can maintain and restore the ship on a long term basis and aims to open it to the public as a museum as well. |

| Fast alle Sendungen der Harwich Radio Caroline RSL kommen als jeweils vierstündige Programme live. Als Disc-Jockeys mit dabei sind unter anderem: Colin Lamb, Phil Mitchell, Barry James, Rega Steve, Simon Clark, Paul Dewise, Big John, Steve Cisco und Diamont Dave Kent. Die meisten Mitarbeiter wohnen in der näheren Umgebung von Harwich und kommen nur für ihr Programm auf das Schiff. Lediglich John Day und ein bis drei andere sind für längere Zeit auf LV18 und übernachten auch dort. | Nearly all transmissions of the Harwich Radio Caroline RSL are live and are seperated into four hour programmes. Some of the DJ‘s involved are Colin Lamb, Phil Mitchell, Barry James, Rega Steve, Simon Clark, Paul Dewise, Big John, Steve Cisco and Diamont Dave Kent. Most of the people involved live not very far away from Harwich. They just arrive for their programme and return home soon afterwards. Only John Day and between one to three others stay and sleep on the ship for longer periods of time. |
