8. Oktober 1973 / October 8th 1973
Radio Veronica was the most popular and successful of the Offshore Radio Stations in the Netherlands. This was also reflected in the number of staff and technical equipment of the studios, which we visited in October 1973. From 1969 onwards, Radio Veronica had studios at Villa Lapershoek in Utrechtseweg 16 in Hilversum. Sophia "Fiep" Petrus welcomed us and led us through the three-storey building.

The record archive contained about 53,000 singles and 17,000 LPs.
The record industry supplied Radio Veronica with six to eight singles and two LPs from each new release. After the impressive record library we went up one floor. Here the entire output of Radio Veronica was recorded for control purposes on large tape machines. The actual studios were up another floor under the roof.
